The Cartier Duty Free Boutique project at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport involved the complete electrical and low-voltage buildout of a luxury retail tenant space within one of the busiest international airport terminals in the United States. Constructed within an active terminal and operational duty-free retail environment, the project required detailed coordination with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), terminal operations, neighboring luxury retailers, and existing airport infrastructure to maintain uninterrupted passenger movement and terminal functionality throughout construction activities.
The electrical scope included modifications and integration into the terminal’s existing electrical distribution systems, installation of new branch circuitry, panel connections, concealed conduit pathways, and dedicated power systems supporting the boutique’s custom architectural and retail display elements. Extensive specialty lighting systems were installed throughout the space, including integrated display case lighting, decorative accent lighting, feature illumination, architectural cove lighting, and programmable lighting controls designed to enhance the premium retail environment and showcase luxury merchandise throughout the boutique. Electrical infrastructure also supported custom millwork displays, illuminated branding features, and coordinated power distribution for specialized retail systems.
Additional low-voltage scope included infrastructure for point-of-sale systems, data and communications cabling, audiovisual systems, digital display integration, security devices, and coordination with existing airport life-safety and tenant systems. Construction activities were carefully phased and executed within the constraints of a live international airport terminal requiring strict compliance with airport security protocols, operational scheduling requirements, and terminal construction standards. The completed project delivers a sophisticated luxury retail environment supported by highly integrated electrical, lighting, and technology systems consistent with the operational and aesthetic standards of the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
