The Westpark Skatepark Expansion project for the City of Ventura involved electrical infrastructure improvements supporting the transformation of the existing 3,200-square-foot skatepark into a new approximately 20,000–22,000-square-foot regional skate facility, now recognized as the largest skatepark in Ventura County. Delivered as part of a design-build project led by Grindline Skateparks, the redevelopment included expanded skating areas, renovated skate features, public gathering spaces, landscaping, pathways, public art elements, and upgraded park lighting systems throughout the site.

TAFT Electric’s scope included installation and integration of new site electrical infrastructure supporting the expanded park environment and upgraded exterior lighting systems throughout the facility. The project required coordination of underground electrical pathways and utility infrastructure within a complex site environment containing existing undocumented underground utilities and active public park access. Electrical improvements supported new architectural and site lighting designed to improve visibility, safety, and usability of the skatepark during evening operations while complementing the park’s modernized landscape and public-use features.

Construction activities were coordinated within an active public recreation environment and required phased execution alongside ongoing civil, concrete, landscaping, and skate feature construction operations. The completed project delivers a modern community recreation facility supported by upgraded electrical and lighting infrastructure designed to enhance safety, functionality, and the overall user experience for one of the region’s premier public skateparks.
