The House of Time project at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport involved the electrical and low-voltage buildout of a luxury retail boutique specializing in premium timepieces and accessories within the terminal’s international duty-free concourse. Constructed within an active airport and high-traffic retail environment, the project required extensive coordination with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), DFS Duty Free operations, terminal management, and adjacent luxury retail tenants to maintain uninterrupted airport and passenger operations throughout construction activities.
TAFT Electric’s scope included installation and integration of new electrical distribution systems supporting specialty retail lighting, custom display environments, point-of-sale infrastructure, and architectural feature elements throughout the boutique. Electrical work included new branch circuitry, panel modifications, concealed conduit systems, dedicated display power, and coordinated integration into the terminal’s existing electrical infrastructure. The boutique incorporated specialty lighting systems designed to enhance luxury watch and jewelry displays, including illuminated showcases, accent lighting, architectural cove lighting, and programmable lighting controls supporting the premium retail environment.
Additional low-voltage scope included infrastructure for data and communications systems, point-of-sale systems, audiovisual integration, security devices, and coordinated interfaces with existing airport life-safety and tenant systems. Construction activities were carefully phased and executed within the operational constraints of a live international terminal environment requiring strict adherence to airport security procedures, operational scheduling requirements, and terminal construction standards. The completed project delivers a refined luxury retail environment supported by highly integrated electrical, lighting, and low-voltage systems consistent with the design and operational standards of the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
